Seminar Organised by Patriarchal Senimary of Rachol

The Patriarchal Senimary of Rachol organised a seminar for the students of Higher Secondary and college on 2nd February, 2023. The name of the seminar was Goycho maddd: Goykaranchem Daiz. 11 students from Rosary Higher secondary participated in the seminar. The event highlighted the socio-cultural and religious and economic traditions associated with the Goan Coconut tree. The speakers did a scientific paper presentation on the importance of cultivation and preservation of the Coconut tree.

In addition to the paper presentation, there were practical sessions that were conducted.
Fr. Benny from Don Boscos, illustrated the use of modern technique to climb the coconut tree. The other guest instructor made various eco friendly items using various parts of Coconut tree including its leaves. The Lady instructor showed how to make mol’lam. Everyone present for the program got a real feel of the Goan culture and the importance of Coconut tree in the day to day life.
