Breast Cancer Screening Camp

The NSS unit in collaboration with the YRC club of Rosary Higher Secondary School ,Navelim organised a breast cancer screening camp at the school campus on 13th August 2022.The screening was conducted under the Swasth Mahila Swasth Goa initiative of cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s We can foundation .
The program began with the welcome address by Tr. Samira Pires at 10.00 a.m in the St. Joseph Vaz hall.The special inviteed Dr. Kajal Naik and Dr. Stefny Cardozo who also happened to be our ex-students were introduced by Tr. Piedade Fernandes.
The Principal of RHSS welcomed the guests with a token of appreciation.
Public health professionals:Dr kajal Naik and Dr Stefny Cardozo of the YouWeCan foundation sensitised the women staff members with issues relating breast cancer and the devices used for the screening which is based on the BE technology.
The screening was conducted in the nursing lab of the vocational stream.
Tr. Lifa Fernandes and Tr.Piedade Fernandes guided the women staff members in enrolling for the camp.
A total of 76 staff members of the school as well as that of neighbouring schools attended and awailed of the free screening.
